The Liebster Award...!

"The Liebster Award is for blogs and bloggers with under 200 followers and the rules of the award are that the nominee must link back to whoever awarded them, write 11 random facts about themselves, answer the 11 questions from the award giver, and then nominate other bloggers and make up 11 questions for them to answer! It's a great way for new and undiscovered bloggers to meet new people, get more followers and find some new blogs they want to follow. So let's all get to know each other guys!!!!!"

I have been nominated for this award by the lovely Lara - who has a lovely blog which can be found here! So please go and take a look!

Instead of writing the 11 facts I'm going to link you to my recently posted 50 facts about me , that way you guys can find out all sorts!

So now on to the 11 questions that Lara asked me:

1- What is your dream job/career?

Well, for as long as I can remember I have always wanted to be a primary school teacher.

2- Favourite movie?

Oh goodness I don't think I can pick just one: The Shawshank Redemption, My Big Fat Greek Wedding, Roman Holiday and The Philadelphia Story.

3- If you were given £10,000, what would you spend it on?

I have always wanted to visit New York, so it would go towards a trip to the Big Apple!

4- Make-up or Clothes?

Am I allowed both....pleaaaase?

5- Who is the one, most important person in my life?

My Parents can count as one person, because  I couldn't pick one over the other. I'd be totally lost without them.

6- What is your favourite book?

Without a doubt....Gone With The Wind...I cannot begin to describe how much I adore this novel.

7- Do you keep a diary on paper/ in a notebook?

I used to have a journal when I was younger, but I haven't kept a diary for a long time!

8- Would you like to have a family one day?

Yes, I would love to have a family of my own one day. I have this dream of living in the country somewhere, enjoying a big family christmas. I know that may sound sad, but it's just something I've always wanted.

9- Are you an organised person or not?

Haha, well I try to be, I am getting better at being organised. University, and moving away from home certainly made me more organised!

10- City or country life?

I love the buzz of the city, the lights, the people, the atmosphere...but I don't think I could live there 24/7. I'll always be a country girl at heart!

11- Vintage or modern?

I'd have to have a mix between the two, I'm too indecisive!

Now for the blogs/bloggers that I nominate in no particular order (I'm doing less than 300 Bloglovin followers):

My 11 questions are:

1- Most cringe-worthy song you know word for word?
2- Favourite smell?
3- What makes you laugh the most?
4- If you were given the opportunity to know your future, would you?
5- Starter or pudding?
6- If you could live in any period of history, what would it be and why?
7- What is your party trick?
8- What is the final sentence of the last book you read?
9-  What is your most prized possession?
10- If you could be best buds with a fictional character (from TV, Film, or literature) who would it be and why?
11- First Word?

Happy Blogging everyone! xx

New wardrobe staples

Hello! I've picked up a few items of clothing recently that are what I would call 'Wardrobe Staples'. Nothing too fancy, but practical things that I hope to build outfits around...

First of all my mum got me a leather jacket, or biker jacket. I've been toying with the idea of getting one for months now, but I've always been a bit unsure. ( I know I'm super late on this leather jacket bandwagon) I see other people wearing them, and think they look great, but have thought that it wouldn't suit me! So I need some advice... I'm not sure what to wear it with, if you guys have any styling ideas, or own a leather jacket please let me know!!

Next I got myself some new PJ bottoms, now I don't know about you, but I love the feeling of getting into bed with new PJ's ( One of life's simple pleasures). This navy and cream tartan pair cost just £5 from Primark. They are super long, and really soft. Perfect for when Autumn arrives. The white blouse is also from Primark, it is just a simple plain blouse with capped sleeves, and buttons down the front. They had a few colours, and at £8 it was a bargain so if you're looking for some 'blouse basics' go take a look!!

I needed some black trousers for my new job that I'm starting in September. The dress code isn't too strict, just no blue jeans, or low cut tops. These Joni jeans from TopShop are perfect! I already have two pairs of blue Joni jeans, and they are so comfortable! They are high waisted, and fit like a dream!

And last but not least...nail polish. I fear for work I shall have to part ways with my beloved Red nail polish, but I hate my 'naked nails'! After hearing lots of things about Barry M Lychee I decided to grab a bottle! I've not used it yet, but if you own it let me know if you like it?
I also grabbed a clear top coat/base as Barry M was on offer in Boots!!

I hope you're having a lovely Sunday! xx

Hello! I seem to enjoy reading these kind of posts, I like finding out about how different people spend their days. For me, yesterday wasn't a hugely exciting day, but it was a pleasant one! First of all, having just moved back home from university, I am going through a post-uni-room-clean stage, so I began to clear out my wardrobe (making more space for new clothes :p) I now have a neat pile of old-ish clothing, that has been washed and is ready to be placed in the hands of friend's younger sisters. This hand-me-down thing has become tradition, and I don't mind because really there is nothing wrong with the clothes I'm getting rid of (I'm just bored of them/don't wear them), and they get pick of some new clothes for free....Winner!

Now I've moved back home I've decided that I can no longer cope with my single bed, as lovely as it is.... so I am eyeing up what is called a 'small double'. This however, means that I will be needing new bedding. I picked up two gorgeous floral double duvet sets: the first is White on one side, with a Pink and Blue floral pattern...the reverse side is Pink and White polka dot!
Available here!

The second is a patchwork design of various stripes, polka dots and flowers in a range of Blue and Pink tones, whilst the reverse is a lovely Blue with small Pink flowers.... this one was reduced so I'm not sure if it is still available! Both were a total bargain from Tesco!

I finally received my results transcript in the post, I can't tell you what it means to me to see my grade written out in black and white. Even though our module grades were posted online a couple of months ago, you feel like you can't really celebrate until it's all confirmed! University wasn't a completely enjoyable time for me, and I never expected to get a 1st, so if I can do it, then you sure can too!!

The afternoon was spent outside, as it was lovely and sunny. Me and my sister just sat by the pond reading, listening to the radio and sipping a cheeky glass of wine each. Rolo went for a sunbathe too!

Hope you're all having a lovely week xx

21st Birthday!

Hi Guys!

I haven't posted on here for a week or so because I've been at the coast, every year me and my sister get to spend a week by the sea with our nearest and dearest to celebrate our birthday. This year we turned 21 (Yes I'm a twin), and although it wasn't a wild, crazy, got-so-drunk-that-I-can't-remember-a-thing kinda day, it was lovely.

Our swimming pool!

First of all the sun was out! Which in August is usually a miracle, so after being woken up early by my best friend's younger sister, we all piled into the lounge (Still in pj's/ holding duvets) whilst me and Charlie began to open our cards and gifts. I've put a couple of pictures on here of some of the things I was lucky enough to be given, I'm not intending to do the whole 'OMG Look at me, and all this stuff I got for my birthday!!'. I just like having a nose at what other people get, so I thought you guys might like a nose too!..

I love these candles!
Beautiful ring from my parents!

Chocolate is always good!

So very lucky!

Beautiful gift from my best friends family!

So after all presents had been opened, and handed round for all to see, we packed our towels, drinks and suncream - off to the beach. Now three amazing things happened here:
1 - I got my legs out, now anyone who knows me will understand this. I NEVER get my legs out, as I am so pasty I could give Caspar a run for his money.
2 - I didn't have any make-up on. Again, it sounds incredibly vain but I have a love/hate relationship with my skin. Well mostly hate, in fact I can't remember a time when I looked at my skin and thought it looked okay.
3 - I went swimming in the sea. This last happened many years ago!

Now these may all sound totally insignificant and stupid to you, but to me these are big things. Maybe I went all crazy and wild for my birthday!

After several hours swimming, splashing and sunbathing we made our way home again, and after washing the salt and sand away in a nice cool shower it was BBQ time! Homemade burgers, kebabs and cocktails all went down a treat! Perhaps one of my favourite things was my cake (Me and my sister had a cake each), I am a huge fan of the Victoria Sponge and think it is terribly underrated! As Happy Birthday was sung, out comes this huge Victoria Sponge cake, complete with butter icing, strawberries and grapes! It had been homemade by my best friend, and her younger sisters. It was so lovely!! I found it so thoughtful that not only had they picked my favourite type of cake, but that they had take the time to bake, and decorate it. Unfortunately I didn't get a picture as we were all too impatient to eat it!

Pimms O' Clock!

In the evening we all went out to listen to a live band, and have a few drinks, then a few more drinks....The evening ended with drunken hide and seek, and jumping through windows. I couldn't have asked for a better birthday, and am so thankful that I spent it with the ones I love.
If it's your birthday soon, or it has just been, I hope you have/had a truly lovely day too!

Best wishes xx
