Autumn Lip Products

Boots is always a dangerous place to shop, I always go in for just one product and come out with several. I just can’t help myself!
I’ve heard through the grapevine that
Berry lips are big for the Autumn/Winter season, and thought I would share some recent lip product purchases, with you.

First of all I picked up a Rimmel Colour Rush Balm, in the shade 200 ‘Keep Mauving’. The crayon is smooth and smells like sugar. Upon application my lips feel soft and the colour is buildable, taking you from a hint of colour to vibrant, standout lips. What I love most is that it is hassle free make-up; you can throw it in your bag without worrying that it will leak, and reapply throughout the day.

Next I grabbed a Lip Stain by 17 in ‘Berry Crush’. The pigmentation is good, application is easy and the balm is lovely and silky. I’m so glad that I went into store to look at these, as ‘Berry Crush’ looks totally different on the website, so keep that in mind. It is also worth noting that I do have to reapply regularly, as the staying power isn’t brilliant. If you have dry lips then I recommend applying a little of the balm first. In all, I’m sure it’s not the best Lip Stain on the market, but for the price it’s not a bad product.

Finally, Maybelline Colour Sensational Gloss, in ‘Coffee Kiss’.  This lip-gloss is great; it goes on smoothly and leaves my lips feeling lovely and moisturised. The shade is a beautiful nude, perfect for days where you just aren’t feeling a bold lip.

What lip products are you liking for Autumn/Winter 2014?

Mini Jewellery Haul

I popped to the shops recently, looking for some new pieces of jewellery, and didn’t leave disappointed. Lots of beautiful jewellery is available on the high street, meaning that you don’t have to spend a fortune to get hold of some amazing outfit accessories.

The blue/Gold necklace and rings are from Accessorize whilst the Aztec necklace and the Black/Gold necklace are both from New Look.

Have you picked up any new pieces of jewellery on the high street lately?

Summer Saviour Products

Now that summer is well and truly over I thought that I would look back at some of my “Summer Saviour Products”, items that helped me survive those hot days and cool evenings.

Soltan Kids Dry Touch Lotion: As someone who has fair skin I have to be very careful about protecting myself in the sun. Although it is designed for kids I found this sun cream to be the best I have used for a long time.  The lotion itself is a little thicker than some others but application is easy and you can get dressed and out the door within minutes. I will say that it isn’t completely “dry-touch” but is more ‘tacky’ than sticky or slimy on application.

Soltan Aftersun Hydrating Lotion with Insect Repellent: After spending a little too long in the sun I found this aftersun to be super cooling and soothing. It does have a watery consistency but absorbed into my skin quickly and the insect repellent was a great-added bonus.

Triple Dry Anti-Perspirant: Oh the glamour of deodorant! I’m not an excessive sweater but this product ensured I stayed clean, dry and fresh throughout even the hottest of summer days. You apply it before bed and are good to go for the whole day without evening worrying. It is a little pricey at £6.45 (Boots online) but I can honestly say it is worth every penny. I thoroughly recommend this to anyone!

Gillette Satin Care Shaving Gel: Summer time means getting your legs out and that means shaving. I love this product and have never got a shaving rash or irritation whilst using it. The texture is soft and foamy and it left my legs feeling silky smooth.

So there we have it, my “Summer Saviour Products”. If you are heading away to get some winter sun then why not give these a try. Do you have any products that you just can’t live without in the summer months?
